Maj. CruceRodney J. Cruce is the President/CEO for On Point Saliency (OPS) in Orlando, FL where he specializes in Leadership, Managerial Decision-Making, Intelligence Services, International Security and Team Building. He created OPS after retiring from the Army as a Major and since has traveled back and forth to Iraq and Afghanistan assisting the Department of Defense in their overseas operations.

Major (R) Cruce completed over 20 years of successful military service that included 10 years as a Non-Commissioned Officer and 10 years as an Officer. He entered the Army as a Combat Engineer enlisted soldier assigned to the 10th Engineer Battalion, 3rd Infantry Division at Kitzingen, Germany. In 1991, he was transferred to Fort Bragg, NC where he was assigned to the 27th Engineer Battalion, 20th Engineer Brigade until he volunteered for Special Forces Training. After completing the Special Forces Engineer Qualification Course, he was assigned to Special Forces Operational Detachment – Alpha (SFODA) 784, a Military Free Fall Team, in 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group (7th SFG (A)) from 1993 to the end of 1998. In 1995, he attended Ranger School where he graduated as the Enlisted Honor Graduate. In 1996, he changed his Special Forces specialty from Engineer to Intelligence Sergeant but remained on the same SFODA. During his time at 7th Special Forces Group, he conducted missions in Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Venezuela, Peru, Colombia and Chili.

In 1998, SFC Cruce was selected to attend Officer Candidate School (OCS) at Fort Benning, GA where he commissioned as a 2LT in Military Intelligence. At OCS, he graduated on the Commandant’s List and received the Physical Fitness Award. Following OCS, he attended the Military Intelligence Officer Basic Course where he received the General Potts Leadership Award for physical fitness, academic and leadership excellence. In 2000, 1LT Cruce graduated Summa Cum Laude from Campbell University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science. Afterwards, he returned to 7th SFG (A) as an Intelligence Officer for a brief time before attending the Military Intelligence Captain Career Course. During this time, 1LT Cruce was selected to return to Special Forces and attend the Special Forces Detachment Officer Qualification Course. Upon his completion of the course, CPT Cruce returned to 7th SGF (A) from 2002 to 2006 where he commanded SFODA 721, served as the Assistant Operations Officer (AS3) for the Group Headquarters and commanded SFODA 797. He conducted missions in Afghanistan, Nicaragua, Colombia, Surinam, Venezuela, Curacao, Bolivia and El Salvador. In 2006, MAJ (R) Cruce was assigned to the University of Central Florida ROTC Program where he completed his military service. While at UCF Army ROTC, one of the top programs in the nation, he served as the Assistant Professor of Military Science specifically teaching the MS III Cadets in preparation for LDAC to include completing a Graduate Degree in Industrial Engineering Management from the University of Central Florida. While at UCF Army ROTC, he developed and implemented techniques from his Special Forces Training that produced Cadets who ranked in the top 1% of the nation. Finally, he received The Colonel Leo A. Codd Award in 2007 for The Most Outstanding U.S. Army ROTC Instructor and the 2008 Cadet Command Instructor of the Year Award.

MAJ (R) Cruce resides in Orlando, Florida with his wife, Jaime, and their highly unstable and ferocious dog Berkley.
